Meet Christian

My name is Christian and I’m the owner and lead guide for Backpack Arizona. I formed this company to share my love for nature through guided multi-day backpacking trips. Whether you’re a seasoned backpacker or just starting out, we cater to every skill level and promise to deliver a unique backcountry experience.

In addition to being a Wilderness First Responder, I possess over 20 years’ experience camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and more, all in the state of Arizona. With my combination of experience and passion, I have designed adventures for everyone to enjoy!

In the end, we just want you to have a special backcountry experience. And you can leave the planning to us!

We have meals available, provide transportation to and from the trailhead, and gear rental options.

Why Backpacking?

A backpacking trip differs significantly from a normal camping or hiking excursion in that it involves hiking away from roads, trail heads, parking lots…etc. with everything we need on our backs.

The days are full with simple yet stunningly fulfilling activities: hiking, fishing, ascending canyons, swimming, eating, resting, appreciating where we are, connecting with fellow travelers. The joys of backpacking are not easily conveyed in words – ultimately, the only way to truly understand it is to experience it yourself.

Never backpacked before?

We have you covered with equipment and a list of items for you to bring, so you are assured a comfortable journey.

Additionally, your guide is a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and has their CPR certification, so guests will be in the best of hands.

Backpack Arizona is an equal opportunity provider.
