Multiday Immersive Wilderness Experiences
Guided Backpacking | Mogollon Rim and Arizona White Mountains
Our Mission
Backpack Arizona was founded to foster conservation and sustainable use of public land through fully immersive multiday wilderness experiences.
In more practical terms, we’re guiding you on a backpacking trip deep in the Arizona backcountry with everything we need to sustain us for a few days strapped to our backs.
Why Book with Backpack Arizona
Have you been wanting to experience nature? Like, really experience the wilderness - far from cities, buildings, cars, roads, and especially other people?
Perhaps you’ve attempted to access the backcountry on your own but feel discouraged whenever you pull up to a trailhead with an overfilled parking lot and loads of picture taking tourists with little concern for trail etiquette.
Or maybe you tried camping and found a nice spot to enjoy, only to be interrupted when a group of loud trucks park at the spot next to yours and their occupants proceed to play loud obnoxious music all weekend, scaring away your chances of seeing any wildlife.
Despite your best attempts to feel the awe of the outdoors, you’re falling short of fulfilling this need burning within you. It’s just out of your grasp and you’re unsure what needs to happen to make this experience a reality.
This is where we can help
In essence, Backpack Arizona is a facilitator of wilderness experiences. We provide guests with the necessary tools and resources to be successful in the backcountry for multiple days. All trips are led by an expert guide who not only knows the trail and surrounding area like their own neighborhood, but is a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR), trained to provide advanced medical care in remote environments.
The wild places we operate in offer an individual the ability to sever their connection from human civilization, fully. There are no cabins, roads, or bathrooms – and a lot less people, if any. The lack of cell reception and zero access to WiFi helps detach us from the endless cycle of consumption and bombardment of information.
As a result, we are only left with ourselves, miles away from trailheads and vehicles with only a backpack filled with what’s necessary to ensure we can comfortably live in nature for a few days.
